Gettysburg Flight School (W05)

Meet The People Who Will Get You Flying

We're not a faceless flight school. We're a small team who loves aviation, and the people you meet here are the people you'll be flying with at W05.

My first flight came at around seventeen years old, and from the moment the wheels left the ground, I was hooked. Flight training was not cheap, and making the numbers work right out of high school was not realistic. So I went to college, spent a few years working, saved what I could, and eventually made my way down to Florida to finish my training the right way.

That path gave me something most instructors never have: a genuine understanding of what it takes to get here. I know what it feels like to want this badly and have life stand in the way. When I earned my certificates and began teaching, it became clear just how much better the student experience could be. Too many flight schools treat training as a transaction. I wanted to build something different, a school designed around the student, not the bottom line. Gettysburg Flight School is that vision brought to life.

I've wanted to be a pilot for about as long as I can remember. Born and raised in Gettysburg, I began flying out of W05 at age 14, eventually soloing in an airplane before I could solo in a car. After earning my private pilot certificate in 2020, I spent two years working IT before deciding it was time to commit to a career in aviation. I completed the rest of my training in Frederick, MD, ultimately earning my instructor certificates and becoming Gettysburg Flight School's first flight instructor.

While I hope to fly for the airlines someday, I'm honored to have the opportunity to pay my experience forward and help fledgling pilots discover the joy and reward of operating one of mankind's most ingenious machines.

I have had a lifelong love of aviation starting with my enlistment in the US Airforce through gaining my private pilot license and ultimately starting the Gettysburg Flight School (GFS). I found my way to a private pilot license in my 30s, I only have one regret, that I didn't do it sooner. Now I have a deep desire to help others take to the skies, which has led to founding Gettysburg Flight School built on passion, precision, and professionalism.

Recognizing that learning to fly can feel both exciting and overwhelming, I wanted to launch this flight school to make aviation more accessible to residents of Adams County. With a clear roadmap for students - whether pursuing a private pilot license for recreation or building hours toward future goals - the focus is on safety, confidence, and real-world proficiency.

I believe the cockpit should be a place of discipline, growth, and yes - a whole lot of fun. After all, flying is one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable. By combining technical expertise with genuine enthusiasm, I am committed to helping the next generation of pilots not just earn a license, but discover and share a lasting passion for aviation.
