This is an estimate, not a quote. Your actual cost depends on how often you fly and how quickly you progress. Outside costs are typical figures and are paid to those providers, not to us.
Our hourly rates cover the aircraft and your instructor. Ground school, your FAA medical exam, the written test fee, the checkride examiner fee, and your headset are paid directly to those providers, so they are not part of either package. The estimates above include all of them so you can see your full cost.
For ground school we recommend Sporty's or King Schools, both available for under $300.
Pennsylvania sales tax (6%) applies to aircraft rental.
A 3.5% airport authority (SARAA) fee is added to flight charges and passed through as a line item on every invoice.
The 5% discount applies while your 5K Block deposit lasts. Once the deposit is used up, new charges post at Pay As You Go rates. If you purchase your next 5K Block before your account falls more than $1,000 behind, the 5% discount is applied retroactively to the charges in between, so staying topped up means you never lose the discount.
Students on a discounted package must complete at least one flight per calendar year to maintain their discounted rate. Students who go 12 months without a logged flight will be reviewed and may be transitioned to Pay As You Go pricing with any unused balance refunded.
A discovery flight is $199 for everyone, with no signup required. Training is billed at Pay As You Go rates unless a 5K Block is purchased. Students who booked at an earlier price keep the rate they signed up at.
